I highly recommend contacting attorney Lou Crisci for anyone facing the need to file for Title XIX. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers and we knew that she would need full time care in the near future. At the same time my 89-year-old father was in perfect health and living independently. Trying to understand how to protect my father’s assets while ensuring that my mother would be cared for would have been impossible for me to handle on my own. The complexities of state and federal laws around Medicaid as well as the filing requirements and paperwork required are overwhelming. Lou was recommended to us by someone who had worked with him in a similar capacity in the past, and we are so grateful to have been able to work with him on my mother’s case. Lou provided very clear guidance on exactly what documentation I needed to collect and he took care of the rest. He was always prompt to respond to my questions and never made me feel like I was bothering him. He kept me apprised of the status of our application during the approval process and then told me exactly what to do when we were approved. In the end we were able to protect my Dad’s assets and my mother is in an outstanding dementia care facility. I know from comparing fees that the amount we were charged was very reasonable as well.
